Aigbogun happy as Enyimba score twice in NPFL match

Enyimba head coach Paul Aigbogun was happy to see his side score twice in an Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) game.

The People’s Elephant secured a 2-1 win over Sunshine Stars in an encounter which was played at the U.J Esuene Stadium on Sunday.

Stephen Chukwude and Ifeanyi Anaemena scored Enyimba’s two goals. Anaemena had netted an own goal, but he made amends by scoring the winning goal.

“We are glad we scored more than once today (Sunday),” Aigbogun told the league’s official website.

“We have not done that since the start of the season.

“It was a difficult game and we made the right changes, that brought us the result. It is a turning point for the team,” he continued.

“The players are working very hard and doing what they ought to do.

“We have to put behind our challenges, but keeping the momentum is also key.”

Enyimba are placed second on the league standings with 17 points from 10 games. They are only behind log leaders Kano Pillars on goal-difference.

The People’s Elephant will take on the Mountain of Fire and Miracles (MFM) FC at the U.J Esuene Stadium on Sunday.
