The 2018 Ghana Premier League season has finally been launched, with a glittering event held at the forecourt of the Ghana Football Association yesterday (Monday).
The league was set to get underway earlier this month, but was placed in limbo when Great Olympics served a court injunction against the GFA.
However, that injunction has since been overturned, allowing the authorities to get on with the business of the 2018 GPL season, which includes the unveiling of an all-new logo.
Acting GFA President Kweku Eyiah emphasised the importance of strengthening existing sponsorship deals.
“Sponsorship relationships should be mutually beneficial to both the sponsor and the sponsored, and the onus should be on all stakeholders to continue doing the right thing and make our sponsors happy, as well as attract new partners,” he is quoted by Ghanasoccernet.
The clubs also unveiled their strips for the upcoming season, which kicks off this weekend with the following matches:
WAFA v Asante Kotoko
Aduana Stars v Liberty Professionals
Eleven Wonders v Hearts of Oak
AshantiGold v Wa All Stars
Ebusua Dwarfs v Berekum Chelsea
Dreams FC v Elmina Sharks
Medeama v Karela FC
Inter Allies v Bechem United
All fixtures kick-off at 15h00 local time on Sunday, March 4, according to the GFA’s official website.
