Although the race for the Italian Serie A title is not over yet, many have predicted that Senegal and Napoli SSC’s Kalidou Koulibaly will wear the gold medal.

Koulibaly has undoubtedly helped Partenopei to become one of the top contenders to be crowned champions, especially after their 5-0 win over Cagliari on Sunday.

This is even said by Juventus supporters as the race continues to keep the fans on the edge of their seats.

Coach Maurizio Sarri’s side lead the standings with 69 points from 26 matches whilst Juve occupy the second spot with 65 and a game in hand.

"Where to improve such a beautiful game?" Sarri told Premium Sport. "Surely we will find some movement to improve even in a game like this, which seems to be perfect: there is always something to improve.

"A Juventus fan says we will win the Scudetto because we deserve it? I hope he is right, but let's not forget that the Bianconeri are a very strong team, which has infinite resources.

"I hope to reach 100 points, but for us it would be unknown terrain: we do not know if we can get there."

However despite the coach’s utterances and a clean sheet, Koulibaly was not seen as of the best performers on the day.

The Senegalese central defender struggled to cope with the pace of Han Kwang Song and was Napoli’s worst player on the evening, he was given a six on ratings by Calciomercato.

On the other hand, their exit in the UEFA Europa League will come as a blessing in disguise for Koulibaly and teammates as they now focus on the league.
