Chippa United goalkeeper Brighton Mhlongo says Orlando Pirates can win the PSL title this season.
Mhlongo is currently on loan at the Chilli Boys from the Buccaneers and played in goal this past weekend when the Soweto side claimed a 4-2 win at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium.
The result took Pirates to second place on the log, four points adrift of leaders and title favourites Mamelodi Sundowns.
While Bucs coach Milutin Sredojevic and his charges have talked down their hopes of finishing top of the log, Mhlongo believes they are capable of lifting the trophy at the end of the season.
“Pirates has been doing well and credit should be given to the whole family because it does not take one man to turn things around. It takes a collective effort, so credit must go to everyone,” Mhlongo explained.
“The coach has been voted coach of the month, which shows they have been working well together as a team to reach a common goal.
“Anything is possible with the way they are playing and they are not far off. I would not be surprised if they make it all the way to the top. We will see what happens at the end of the season.”
