Al Ahly general manager Ahmed Ayoub says their mission is to lift the Egyptian Premier League crown in their next two games.

Ayoub has spoken on the importance of their two matches against El-Dakhleya and ENPPI, saying they are must-win games.

The Red Devils comfortably sit on top of the Egyptian Premier League table with 69 points from 26 games, and if they bag six points in their next two games they will become league champions for the 40th time in their history.

“The technical staff headed by Hossam El Badry has a very clear goal for the coming period, specifically to win the next two games against El-Dakhleya and ENPPI,” Ayoub told Al Ahly’s website.

“The staff emphasised to the players on the importance of dealing with the next games as if they were cup games until the league is officially won.

“Everyone in Al Ahly knows that winning the league early would greatly decrease the pressure of playing domestically on the technical staff and players. All concentration will be on the CAF Champions League and the [domestic] Cup.

“El-Dakhleya is one of the teams that play well against Al Ahly and who are determined to remain in the league next season. This will make the match difficult.”

The Red Devils will face El-Dakhleya on Wednesday and will then host CF Mounana on March 6 in the first leg of the round of 32 of the CAF Champions League.
