The Comoros Football Federation has held a presidential elective congress and have elected a new executive to lead the country’s FA.

Held on February 24, the federation has elected Said Ali Said Athoumane as the new president to take the country’s football business forward.

CAF President Ahmad Ahmad has since sent a congratulatory message to the president-elect of the federation.

“I have learnt with pleasure and joy of your successful election to the helm of the Comoros Football Federation, and I congratulate you and sincerely wish you success,” Ahmad said in a letter.

The election comes ahead of the Les Coelcantes’ friendly international against the Harambee Stars of Kenya in Morocco next month.

However, Comoros currently sit at the bottom of Group B in the 2019 CAF African Cup of Nations qualifiers with no points after losing to Malawi.

In their upcoming qualifier, they will face the reigning African champions Cameroon on March 23 at home.
