Al Ahly assistant coach Sayed Moawad has warned his side against underestimating Gabon's CF Mounana ahead of their last 32 meeting in the CAF Champions League.
Mounana have set up a meeting against the Red Devils in the first round after overcoming Burkina Faso’s Rail Club du Kadiogo with a 2-1 over the two legs.
The Red Devils will host the Gabonese side on March 6, before flying to Libreville to play the return leg on March 17.
“CF Mounana is a dangerous team at home, we have to make the best of our first leg game in Egypt and achieve a positive result,” Moawad told DMC Sports.
“We hope to avoid what happened last season when we beat Bidvest Wits 1-0 and edged them with a 0-0 draw in South Africa in an intense atmosphere.
“Another goal is to secure the league title as soon as possible, afterwards we will have the opportunity to give chances to players who haven’t got enough playing time.”
