Ex-Rwanda national team player Olivier Karekezi has stepped down as coach of Rayon Sports FC pending match fixing claims.
The former Amavubi international is believed to have left for Sweden and resigned from his position as the head coach at Rayon Sport.
According to Ruhagoyacu, Karekezi left Rwanda for Sweden a few hours after his side’s loss to APR.

Karekezi was appointed in July 2017 by the Rwandan Premier League champions and the club has confirmed his departure.
The club’s general secretary Bernard Itangishaka said they were happy with the coach’s progress, but Jeannot Witakenge will take over as interim coach.
“We need official communication from Karekezi. In the meantime, assistant coach Jeannot Witakenge will be in charge of the team,” said Itangishaka.
“It is not true, we were happy with him because his performance was not bad. We have not talked to him yet, but if he returns we can sit with him and see what to do next.
“We play well, but the scoring is a big problem, it was too early to judge him because we are still in contention in every competition.”
Meanwhile, reports indicate that the coach handed a resignation letter citing the latest saga involving match fixing claims.
