Zanaco FC assistant coach David Chilufya says they are not scared of Swaziland’s Mbabane Swallows as the two regional rivals prepare to meet.
Zanaco will host the CAF Champions league first round first leg encounter in Lusaka next Tuesday before travelling to Mbabane for the return leg.
Chilufya was speaking after their 3-1 away triumph in Gambia, saying they were not worried about next Tuesday’s fixture, but looked well beyond it to the final.
“I’m not worried about facing Swallows as we have a new team capable of beating the Swazis. We are trying to build a team that can compete fairly in the tournament,” he told the Daily Nation.
“We lost about seven players who joined other clubs and now we have a new team but our goal is to develop a team that will go far in the tournament.
“We have played two games, next we meet Swallows. We believe Zanaco will get a positive result against Swallows because we know how the Swazis play their game.
“Last year we reached the group stage but this time around we are getting to the finals because we have a good team.”
