Polokwane City and Lamontville Golden Arrows drew 2-2 draw in an Absa Premiership match at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
As a result, Rise and Shine climbed up to 14th place on the league table, while Abafana Bes'thende also move up to 10th spot on the standings.
Abafana Bes'thende were awarded a free-kick in a promising area seven minutes into the game and they had a chance to grab an early lead.
Lerato Lamola, who is a striker by trade, stepped up and placed his effort over the crossbar without troubling Polokwane goalkeeper George Chigova.
Rise and Shine dominated possession, but the visitors looked dangerous on the counter arrack.
Sandile Zuke won the ball on the edge of the box in the 24th minute and he launched a counter-attack, but lost the ball, and Polokwane cleared their lines.
The last chance of the first-half went to Danny Venter lined up a good shot from the left, but he was denied by Chigova.
Polokwane and Arrows were locked at 1-1 at the interval.
An entertaining second-half followed with Lerato Lamola breaking the deadlock with a left-footed shot to make it 1-0 to Arrows in the 49th minute.
The visitors' lead lasted for 10 minutes as second-half substitute Walter Musona scored with his chest to make it 1-1 for Polokwane.
It was end-to-end stuff and Siphelele Magubane made it 2-1 to Arrows with long-range shot which beat Chigova in the 63rd minute.
Dominic Chungwa, who is a striker by trade, was introduced by Rise and Shine in the closing stages of the game as they looked to snatch a late equalizer.
The hosts did snatch a late equalizing goal through Puleng Tlolane, who scored with a long-range shot and Polowane, and Arrows drew 2-2 on the day.
