Guinea Football Federation have announced Kanfory Bangoura’s successor after naming former Burkina Faso coach, Paul Put as the new boss.
The former Kenya and Jordan coach replaces Muhammed Kanfory Lappe Bangoura who was sacked in February during the 2019 CAF African Nations Championship tournament in Morocco.
Moreover, Put resigned last month from his role as the Harambee Stars boss citing personal reasons, leaving the team in third place in the 2019 CAF Africa Cup of Nations Qualifiers with zero points.
Despite their decision to settle for Put, the federation announced that there were more than 80 managers applying for the job.
Put’s main objective will be leading the team in the 2019 AFCON Qualifiers competing with Ivory Coast, Rwanda and the Central African Republic.
The Syli Nationale are in first place in Group H with three points from one game played, but the Belgian’s first test will be against Mauritania in a friendly international in Nouakchott on March 24.
