Tuesday’s UEFA Champions League action will see the likes of Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Yacine Brahimi representing the African continent.
The main focus will fall on the French capital where Paris Saint-Germain - who will have to cope without injured talisman Neymar - look to overcome a 3-1 deficit against title holders Real Madrid in their last 16 tie.
The only African interest in the match comes in the shape of Madrid’s Moroccan defender Achraf Hakimi, though he was dropped for their last game after playing in the 1-0 domestic loss at Espanyol last midweek.
There will be far more African influence at Anfield, where Liverpool will look to add to their 5-0 advantage over Porto.
The Reds can of course call on Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah - who has netted 32 goals so far this season - and Joel Matip, while Porto will look to Algerian playmaker Yacine Brahimi and Ghanaian Majeed Waris, though Malian Moussa Marega is doubtful due to injury.
Yet the Portuguese side should be able to field Cameroon striker Vincent Aboubakar, who returned from injury this past weekend in a 2-1 win over Sporting Lisbon and is set for a physical battle against Liverpool’s Virgil van Dijk.
