The 2018 CAF Champions League’s First Round will continue with 12 first-leg matches across the continent on Wednesday, March 7.
Zambian sides Zesco United and Zanaco will be looking to make the most of home advantage when they host afternoon games against ASEC Mimosas and Mbabane Swallows respectively, while the East African derby between Ethiopia’s Saint George and Uganda giants KCCA is set to be a thriller in Addis Ababa.
Reigning Confederation Cup champions TP Mazembe open their campaign with a clash at home to Mozambique’s UD Songo, while current Champions League holders Wydad Casablanca will host Ivorian side Williamsville AC in the penultimate game of the day.
Other notable clashes see Ghanaian champions Aduana Stars welcome Algeria’s ES Setif to Dormaa Ahenkro, 2016 African champions Mamelodi Sundowns are away to Rayon Sports in Kigali, their fellow South Africans Bidvest Wits will be in Luanda for a clash with Primeiro de Agosto, and Nigeria’s MFM will need to put in a strong showing against MC Alger.
The return leg matches will be played on the weekend of 16-18 March, with the aggregate winners advancing into the group stage.
