Ghana coach James Kwesi Appiah has reportedly said that he will reward Aduana Stars’ players if they defeat ES Setif in the CAF Champions League.
The Ghanaian club host their Algerian counterparts for the first leg of their first round tie today, with the aggregate winners over two matches progressing into the group stage.
The defending Ghana Premier League champions are looking to become the first team from the country to reach the group phase since Berekum Chelsea in 2012.
Appiah has attempted to motivate their players by saying he will consider them for the next Ghana squad if they perform strongly in the continental competition.
"Eliminate ES Setif and qualify to the CAF Champions League group stage and I will make sure you guys get a chance to the Black Stars in my next call up," Appiah is quoted by Kickgh.com.
Stars are hosting Setif at the Agyemang-Badu Stadium today, with the return game set for Stade 8 Mei 1945 on March 18.
