Great Olympics communications director Saint Osei says only god’s intervention can get the 2018 Ghana Premier League (GPL) season underway in the near future.
Relegated Olympics delayed the start of the new season for the second time in a month when they served another court injunction to the Ghana FA last week, in protest at allegations that Bechem United fielded an ineligible player against them last year.
The GFA and Olympics held a showdown meeting last Friday in a bid find an amicable solution to the issue, but it remains unresolved after the club’s proposal for an 18-team league was rejected.
During an interview with Happy FM, Osei says he does not believe the GPL will start anytime soon unless god intervenes.
"It would take the intervention of god for the league to start," Osei declared on Happy FM, as quoted by Ghanasoccernet.
"It stated categorically that the case be resolved before the league starts. We are surprised we were taken out and date fixed for the commencement of the league."
