Nigerian coach Gernot Rohr plans to call up 28 players for the Super Eagles’ international friendlies this month as they step-up their preparations for the 218 FIFA World Cup in Russia.
The Eagles’ boss looks to put his team in shape before the start of the World Cup in June with friendlies against Poland and Serbia in late March.
He said he will invite players including those who played at the CAF African Nations Championship tournament in Morocco.
Speaking to Owngoalnigeria.com, the coach confirmed that 28 players will make the squad for the upcoming friendly games, with two players from the CHAN team included in the list.
”I am going to have a list of 28 players for the two games and there will be two players from the CHAN team of Morocco. I was there I saw all the games,” Rohr said in Lagos.
”I was living with them and my assistant Yusuf (Salisu) did a big job with Alloy (Agu), the goalkeeper trainer and also the medical staff, they did very well with Imama (Amakapabo) also.
“So it’s the same squad I have with me in my World Cup.
“We are sure the information is always first class information. And then yes, so I will believe two players will be in the list, they can have a chance.”
