Zamalek boss Mortada Mansour has confirmed that one of the key players in Ayman Hefny has signed his new contract with the club.
Although the president has not revealed the new contract’s financial details, it that has come as a huge boost for the club.
Despite losing their CAF Confederation Cup first round first leg clash 2-1 to Ethiopia’s Welayta Dicha on Wednesday, they have retained the player’s signature.
Hefny joined Zamalek from Tala’a El-Gaish in the summer of 2014 and took part in only 15 matches so far with the White Knights, making one assist and is yet to score a goal.
“After we successfully managed to renew the contracts of Tarek Hamed and Ahmed El-Shennawy, Ayman Hefny also signed his new contract to extend his time with Zamalek,” Mortada told LTC TV channel.
“Ayman signed without specifying any financial terms, which is an attitude we respect.”
The deal comes a few days after the club announced contracts renewals for the Pharaohs international midfielder Tarek Hamed and goalkeeper Ahmed El-Shennawy.
