Nigerian John Obi Mikel saw his Chinese Super League side Tianjin Teda suffer their first defeat of the 2018 season on Sunday.
Mikel started and played the full 90 minutes at the Zhengzhou Hanghai Stadium as his side were beaten 1-0 by hosts Henan Jianye.
Portuguese attacker Orlando Sa scored the only goal of the game after just seven minutes of play, allowing his team, which also featured Cameroonian striker Christian Bassogog, to pick up their first win of the new campaign.
The defeat leaves Tianjin in 12th place on the 16-team log, with one point from their opening two clashes.
Mikel’s side will return to action next weekend when they host a derby clash against Tianjin Quanjian on Sunday, March 18.
