Algeria and Leicester City winger Riyad Mahrez has revealed that he wants to finish on a high with the Foxes.
The Desert Foxes international said they can still finish within the top eight in the English Premier League.
Mahrez scored for the King Power-based side in their 4-1 demolition of West Bromwich Albion on Saturday.
“It could be [a successful end to the season] because we still have eight games to go, we can still finish seventh, maybe sixth, we never know,” Mahrez told Leicester Mercury.
“We conceded early and, after that, we had to play higher in their half and that’s what we did. We scored and in the second half, we were better than them.
“After the second goal, it was difficult for them to come back. We know how difficult it is to be in this position, because we’ve been in this position three years ago.”
The 27-year-old has now scored 11 goals and contributed eight assists in all competitions this season and is hoping that the Foxes can continue the momentum when they face Chelsea on Sunday.
Claude Puel’s men are in the FA Cup Last Eight and will face Chelsea on Sunday and Mahrez added that it is important to end on a high.
“We have the Quarter-Final of the FA Cup and it will be very important for us to keep going in this competition because it’s Europe as well. For the Club, that’s very good, so we will see next week,” added Mahrez.
