Zamalek striker Bassem Morsy has thanked the club’s president Mortada Mansour and coach Ehab Galal after he starred in the Whites’ 4-1 win over Al Ragaa on Wednesday.

Morsy netted a brace to help his team defeat Al Ragaa 4-1 whilst Ahmed Madbouly and Mahmoud Abdel-Aziz were also on target.

The 2014/15 Egyptian Premier League top scorer has suffered a period of goal-drought as he struggled to find the back of the net in the ongoing domestic league campaign.

“I owe this to Mortada Mansour, Ahmed Mortada and Ehab Galal. They have constantly supported me strongly, I felt more important during my goal-drought period,” Morsy told DMC Sports.

“It doesn’t matter for me if I score goals or not, what is important is that the team wins, the three points are more important than Bassem. We target the second place in order to play Champions League football next season.

“He [Ehab Galal] helped me a lot and freed me of pressure. He always told me to follow his instructions and not care about scoring goals.”
