Kampala City Council Authority coach Mike Mutebi has vowed to beat Ethiopia’s Saint George on Saturday and qualify for the CAF Champions League group stage for the first time.

The first leg in Addis Ababa ended in a barren draw, a result which puts the Kampala-based side in good stead towards the realisation of their aspirations.

Speaking to the CAF website, Mutebi said they will need renewed commitment from the players to ensure they stun the Ethiopians.

Mutebi also called on the supporters to pack the Philip Omondi Stadium to push and motivate the team to ensure victory.

“We have no option but to play well and make the group stage because it is what our target is,” Mutebi told CAFOnline.com.

“There is no reason why we have to be under pressure playing at home. We have to play good football and win the match.

“In the past, KCCA fans have been laid back, but they have regenerated and have pushed the team in the last two years.

“We shall need 100% commitment from our fans to pump-up the players because this is a big game for us.

The Ethiopian giants will miss the services of Salhadin Said, Sedi Mohammed Keita together with Ibrahim Fofona due to injury.

KCCA reached the CAF Confederation Cup group stage last year and are determined to become the first Ugandan team to make it into the last 16 of the premier continental club championship.
