PLAYER SPOTLIGHT: Mario Lemina - The Gabon star to represent Saints at King’s Cup

Lemina is part of the Gabon team that will participate in the 2018 King’s Cup in Thailand during the FIFA international break.

The tournament is organized by the Football Association of Thailand. The hosts, Thailand, are a participants in every edition.

This year’s competition will feature Gabon, Slovakia, United Arab Emirates (UAE) as well as Thailand.

Lemina’s English Premier League club, Southampton FC has released the following statement regarding its key central midfielder.

“Mario Lemina (Gabon): Lemina may be returning to Staplewood with a piece of silverware.”

“The midfielder’s Gabon side will contest the King’s Cup in Thailand alongside the hosts, Slovakia and the United Arab Emirates.”

“The winner of the two semi-finals on Thursday 22nd March will meet in the final on Monday 25th March, while the two losers will compete in a third-place play-off.”

Lemina has established himself as one of Gabon’s key players since making his international debut against Tunisia in 2015.

He scored on his debut as the two African sides played to a 3-3 stalemate in Tunisia.
