The Cameroon international has revealed his desire to play for French Ligue 1 giants Olympique Marseille.

Bassogog is currently plying his trade in the Chinese Super League for Henan Jianye having joined the club from Danish side Aalborg BK in February 2017.

The 22-year-old, who won the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) title with Cameroon in Gabon, is ready to dump Jianye and return to Europe according to the latest reports.

“I still have two years of contract in China. I would like to come back to Europe.

“I am still very young. It will be a pride for me to return to Europe,” Bassogog said in an interview with Canal+.

"I want to play in the French league. And Olympique de Marseille is my heart club,” he added.

Bassogog’s countrymen Henri Bedimo, André-Frank Zambo Anguissa and Brice Nlate are currently on the books of Marseille.

Cameroon interim coach Alexandre Belinga included Bassogog and Anguissa in his 23-man squad for the country’s friendly encounter against Kuwait later this month.

The Indomitable Lions will take on their Asian counterpart during the international break on March 25 in Kuwait City.
