Algerian left-back Faouzi Ghoulam has been sent to Dubai by his Italian club Napoli for warm-weather recovery from his double knee injuries.
The 26-year-old has not seen any first-team action since tearing a ligament in his right knee while playing for the Partenopei in a UEFA Champions League match against Manchester City last November.
He was close to returning ahead of schedule from the injury but then suffered a fractured kneecap in training, setting his return back to April – if at all this season.
Ghoulam is in Dubai, along with a Napoli physiotherapist, to aid his recovery and ensure that at the very least he is fully recovered for the Serie A club’s preseason ahead of the 2018/19 campaign.
In the meantime, the Fennec Foxes star continues to be linked with a move to the Premier League despite not being in action for five months.
TMW reports that he is one of several major summer targets for Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho, while Arsenal, Man City and Chelsea have also been linked with the player at different stages this season.
