Senegal international striker Demba Ba remains confident that he will receive a call-up to the national team.

Although he has not been invited to the Lions of Teranga team since 2015, he believes coach Aliou Cisse will give him a chance.

Ba was last invited for an international friendly against Ghana in France under coach Cisse after he was overlooked by former coach Alain Giresse.

Now on the books of Goztepe in Turkey, he has not given up on a possible return to the Lions of Teranga team, saying that his experience is vital to the team for 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.

“Experienced players are needed in international competitions. In Europe I have played in all competitions,” Ba told Soka25East as translated from French.

“Beyond the experience, there is the personality too. You need to have character when you go to competitions like this one.”

The 32-year-old striker has been in fine goal scoring form where he increased his tally to five in seven Turkish Super Lig appearances this past weekend.
