Following their disappointing CAF Champions League exit, Bidvest Wits coach Gavin Hunt says they will now channel their energies onto the South African Premier Soccer League.
The Clever Boys failed to reach the group stages of the continental tournament after losing via penalties on aggregate to Primeiro De Agosto last weekend.
Despite their exit from the Champions League, Wits are through to the first play-off round of the CAF Confederation Cup where they will face Enyimba.
However, Hunt said they can still finish in a better position in the Absa Premiership because ther are many games left for them to wrap up their 2017/18 season.
Just after the ongoing FIFA international break, the four time league title winner will lead his men to five away PSL games.
They will travel to Maritzburg United, Ajax Cape Town‚ Mamelodi Sundowns‚ Orlando Pirates and Platinum Stars.
“I think we can still end up way up in the league. There are still a number of games to play‚” said Hunt.
“We were out of the league run and out of the Nedbank and this (Champions League) was a great opportunity for us to have another go at another area.”
“It’s going to be hell of a task with all those away matches but the key will be to have as many players available.”
The reigning league champions are placed at number 10 on the log table with 29 points from 24 games.
Meanwhile, the former SuperSport United coach was voted as the February Coach of the Month as announced by the PSL on Monday.
