Kampala Capital City Authority coach Mike Mutebi says his men are in a tough group as they discovered their opponents for the CAF Champions League.

The draw for the group stages was conducted in Egypt on Wednesday and the Ugandan champions will face Egyptian side Al Ahly, Esperance of Tunisia as well as Botswana’s Township Rollers

Mutebi said they are in a tough draw, but they are an emerging force and a young team with an average age of 22.

“This is the challenge we have been waiting for. Last season, we played against clubs from Egypt (El Masry) and Morocco (FUS Rabat), so we have experience against North African clubs, and we believe that will motivate us.

"We are an emerging force and a young team with an average age of 22.

“It is a very tough draw. We will be playing against some of the big sides in African football, but we are not scared. We are going to put up a good fight.”

The group stage kicks off on the weekend of May 4-6 and runs until the midweek of August 28-29, with the top two teams from each group advancing into the quarterfinals.
