Zambia national team coach Wedson Nyirenda says the Botswana referee did not know how to handle the match between his men and South Africa.
The Chipolopolo boss was speaking after their 2-0 loss against Bafana Bafana in the Four Nations Tournament final on Saturday.
Goals through Lebohang Mothiba and Percy Tau ensured Bafana cruised past the hosts at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola.
“I think I don’t like that referee’s decision. He did the same in the Zimbabwe and again today he was the just the same,” Nyirenda said.
“He didn’t know what he was doing.”
In their semifinal on Wednesday, the 2012 African champions defeated Zimbabwe on penalties to seal a spot in the final.
Earlier on in the day, Angola beat Zimbabwe 4-2 on penalties to secure a third spot in the inaugural tournament.
