Uganda national team coach Sebastien Desabre is delighted after bagging his first victory as the Cranes head coach since taking over from Moses Basena in December last year.
The French-born coach led his men to a 3-1 victory over Sao Tome and Principe at Namboole Stadium last weekend.
He previously led the East African side to three losses against Congo, Zambia and Namibia, and drew against Guinea and Cote D’Ivoire, but he managed to break his winless run.
The Cranes overcame the visiting West African island nation at Mandela National Stadium in Namboole and the coach is delighted,
The three goals came through Joseph Ochaya, Murushid Jjuuko and debutant Abraham Ndugwa.
“I am happy that we achieved our number one objective – to win,” he said.
“It was a good opportunity to play at home and see many of the foreign based players in action.
“It was a good performance and we shall keep improving.”
