The 22-year-old attacker marked his return to the Cameroon national team with a brace over the weekend.
The Indomitable Lions brushed aside Kuwait 3-0 in a FIFA international friendly match which was played in Kuwait City on Sunday.
Bassogog grabbed brace, while the other goal was scored by his teammate Vincent Aboubakar at the Jaber Al-Ahmad International Stadium.
This was Bassogog’s first match for the Indomitable Lions since helping his country beat Algeria 2-0 at home in a 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier (Group B) last October.
The midfielder-cum-striker missed Cameroon’s final Group B match which was against Zambia due to an injury last November. The reigning African champions drew 2-2 with Zambia in Ndola.
Bassogog has now hit the back of the net five times in 18 appearances for Cameroon having made his international debut against Zambia in November 2016.
The forward has since returned to his club, Henan Jianye, who are campaigning in the Chinese Super League.
He has made three appearances thus far in the new 2018 campaign without scoring and he will be looking to open his scoring account for the season against Dalian Yifang on Saturday.
The game will be played at the Zhengzhou Hanghai Stadium.
