Egypt and Arsenal midfielder Mohamed Elneny has signed a new contract with the English Premier League club.

The Pharaohs international announced the news on his official Twitter account and expressed delight as well as pledging his loyalty to the side.

The 25-year-old joined the Gunners from Swiss side Basel in January 2016.

He has made 65 appearances for the North London club under manager Arsene Wenger, but the club has not revealed the length of the new deal.

"Officially we will be together for a longer time, in order to reach what we started, and to put Arsenal in its deserved spot in Europe and the whole world," Elneny tweeted.

The player is hoping to be part of Hector Cuper’s World Cup squad after playing a big part in getting the Pharaohs to Russia.

Moreover, the dreadlocked midfielder was previously on the books of El Mokawloon in the Egyptian Premier League.
