Alex Song to train with New York Red Bulls

Latest news reports in the United States of America reveal that Cameroon midfielder Alex Song will be training with the New York Red Bulls.

One of the most familiar faces in world football, Song is reportedly set to hit the training field with a Major League Soccer club.

Reports surfaced on Monday that the Indomitable Lions international will be training with the NY Red Bulls this week.

However, it is mentioned that the spell will only be for training purposes and not a trial for Jesse Marsch's team.

The 30-year-old is best known for his displays with Arsenal in the English Premier League from between 2005 and 2012.

He also played for Spanish giants Barcelona, but recently featured in the Russian Premier League for Rubin Kazan.

However, the central midfielder is said to be out of contract and looking to get fit for his next destination.

In addition to playing club soccer in Europe, the Cameroonian played in the 2010 and 2014 FIFA World Cups and is a two-time African Cup of Nations Best XI player.
