Just as the FIFA break ends and players return to their respective clubs, Senegal and Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly is linked with a move to Chelsea.
The English Premier League reigning champions are the latest suitors linked with the Senegalese centre back as they are reportedly considering a bid despite interest from rivals Arsenal.
Koulibaly has put in a series of impressive performances in the Serie A this season, helping Partenopei challenge for the title in which they trail leaders Juventus by just two points.
The 26-year-old international is reportedly a top target for a host of leading European clubs, with Manchester United and the Gunners previously showing an interest in capturing his signature.
According to Corriere dello Sport, the Blues have joined the race to sign the defender at the end of the season.
Although Koulibaly is believed to have a €70m release clause in his Napoli contract, a fee the Italian giants are expected to demand in full, Chelsea are understood to be willing to meet that valuation.
However, the move depends on manager Antonio Conte’s future at Stamford Bridge as his position is far from secure.
Having lost the battle to retain the EPL crown, the Italian manager is reportedly linked with French Ligue1 giants Paris Saint-Germain.
