Despite losing two matches this past week, Egypt international and West Bromwich Albion defender Ahmed Hegazi says they have learned a lot.
The experienced defender was speaking after their two losses against Portugal and Greece in the the recent FIFA international break.
Hegazi played the full 90 minutes against Portugal, but was rested against Greece as Héctor Cúper tried new faces, bringing on Saad Samir, Mohamed Awad, Ayman Ashraf, Mohamed Magdy and Hussein El-Shahat.
“The international camp was very good and we have benefited from the two games that we have had a lot,” Hegazi told ONSport.
“We are playing with a certain system and we were trying to add other things to our system during the camp.
“It was important to play against different football styles other than the African ones as we had to get used to facing all types of opponents before the World Cup.”
The Pharaohs international will now shift his focus onto club matters as the Baggies fight for survival in the English Premier League.
In their roster, they will meet Manchester United, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur as they look to collect maximum points.
