With Guinea and RB Leipzig midfielder Naby Keita set to make the much-publicised move to English Premier League giants Liverpool in July, he might leave with a Leipzig teammate.
Reports doing the rounds in Europe reveal that striker Timo Werner could leave the German Bundesliga side and go with the Syli Nationale international.
According to German daily newspaper, Bild, it is reported that Jurgen Klopp wants to sign the German international striker.
It is announced that the Reds boss has already been in contact with Werner’s agent, Karlheinz Forster, after the 22-year-old netted 18 goals and chipped in six assists from 37 games for Leipzig so far this season.
“I did not want to clarify anything (with regards to my future), just repeat what our sporting director Ralf Rangnick has always said, that he would not let me go – even if I wanted to – in the summer anyway,” Werner told Kicker.
Meanwhile, with Keita having missed the friendly international against Mauritania last weekend due to injury, the club reports that he has resumed training.
