Nigeria international Kelechi Iheanacho will be assessed by his club Leicester ahead of their clash with Brighton & Hove Albion.

This is after 21-year-old striker broke his hand while on international duty last week.

Iheanacho missed the Super Eagles' Tuesday’s 2-0 defeat to Serbia in an international friendly match in London, England.

Speaking to the club's official website, Leicester manager Claude Puel disclosed that Ihenacho's club team-mate Matty James is a doubt for the clash against Brighton.

“[Almost] all the players are [fit]. Just Iheanacho, who has a broken hand, and James. We will see if [Iheanacho] can play with this injury," he said.

"We will see tomorrow in the training session. He fell but it’s not a [bad] injury. We will see if this injury will prevent him from playing [at Brighton] or not.

"It’s not an important injury but it might be strange to play with.”

"Matty [felt] something in his [Achilles] tendon and we’ll see when he can come back."

Brighton will host Leicester at The American Express Community Stadium on Saturday.

Iheanacho has made 15 appearances in the league this season - netting once in the process.
