Enyimba assistant coach Usman Abdallah says their win over MFM was a dress rehearsal for their game with South African side Bidvest Wits.
The People's Elephant defeated MFM 2-0 in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) game on Wednesday.
Enyimba will take on South African champions Wits away in the first leg of the CAF Confederation Cup playoff next week Friday.
Abdallah acted as head coach with Paul Aigbogun, who was on international duty with the Nigeria Under-20s in Egypt.
“The game was all about preparation for the CAF Confederation Cup," Abdallah told the NPFL website.
"We are building our team for that game (against Bidvest Wits) and this victory came as a plus for us, even though we expected it."
The win took Enyomba to fifth place on the standings with 21 points from 13 matches.
