Leicester City’s Nigerian midfielder Wilfred Ndidi has responded to speculation linking him with a move to Liverpool in the European summer.
The Super Eagles player’s performances for Leicester this season have earned high praise and sparked rumours that a move to a Premier League heavyweight is on the cards.
Liverpool have been mentioned as a possible destination for the 21-year-old, but he told The Sun that his focus is on performing for the Foxes.
“I don’t think about this. Any move to a bigger club will take care of itself if I keep doing my thing,” he is quoted as saying.
Ndidi also explained that the arrival of compatriot Kelechi Iheanacho at the King Power Stadium has made his stay at the club even more enjoyable.
“I was happy when he [Iheanacho] signed [from Manchester City] because I knew Kelechi from the Nigeria Under-17s and Under-20s.
“He is a big character, he is the team’s fashion man, funny man and music man all in one.”
