Cape Town City will be looking to build momentum in the Absa Premiership when they host Golden Arrows at Cape Town Stadium on 4 April 2018, kick-off at 19h30.
City ended a four-game losing streak in the league by defeating Chippa United 2-0 at home on March 2, thanks to goals from Ayanda Patosi and Lyle Lakay. It was a first league victory since edging local rivals Ajax Cape Town 1-0 on January 20.
The Citizens have claimed 13 points from 10 home matches this season. They have only managed to beat Platinum Stars, Polokwane City, Ajax and Chippa as hosts throughout the 2017/18 season.
Arrows have won just one of their last seven league matches after they were beaten 2-1 at home by Orlando Pirates on March 17. The Durban side has picked up just six points from a possible 21 in the sequence.
Abafana Bes’thende have claimed 12 points from as many away matches this season, while their last game on the road was a 2-2 draw at Polokwane City in early March.
In head-to-head stats, City and Arrows have met in three league matches since the start of last season. Abafana Bes’thende have one win (2-0 at home last term), the Citizens have won win (1-0 in last season’s return game) and the teams’ one draw was a 2-2 stalemate played out in Durban in November last year.
City’s line-up from their 2-0 win over Chippa on March 2: Stephens, Mkhize, Gumede, Johannes, Edmilson, Putsche, Modise, Ralani (Roberts 73'), Patosi (Martin 65'), Lakay, Moseamedi (Mngonyama 85').
