Bidvest Wits will look to keep up their good form in the Absa Premiership when they host Maritzburg United at Bidvest Stadium on 3 April 2018, kick-off at 19h30.

Wits extended their unbeaten streak in the league to eight matches with a 1-1 draw at home to Baroka FC on March 2. The sequence of results has brought the Johannesburg side 18 points from a possible 24.

The Clever Boys have claimed just 12 points from as many home matches this season, with their last two turns as hosts bringing them 1-1 draws against Kaizer Chiefs and Baroka.

Maritzburg continued their excellent league form with a 2-1 home win over Polokwane City on March 16. The KwaZulu-Natal club has won three of their last four matches to pick up 10 points from the last 12 available.

The Team of Choice has claimed 17 points from 12 away matches this season, with their last game on the road bringing them a goalless draw at SuperSport United in early March.

In head-to-head stats, Maritzburg and Wits have met in 21 league matches since 2006/07. The Clever Boys have claimed 10 wins compared to just three for the Team of Choice, while eight matches have been drawn. The Johannesburg team has claimed six wins and suffered two defeats from their 10 home league matches against the KwaZulu-Natal side.

When the teams met earlier this season, at Pietermaritzburg in late November 2017, they played to a goalless stalemate. The result extended Wits’ unbeaten record against Maritzburg to seven league matches.

Wits’ line-up from their 1-1 draw with Baroka on March 2: Keet, Allie, Hlatshwayo, Mkhwanazi, Hlanti, Gyimah, Myeni, Classen (Alexander 57’), Majoro (Rodgers 80’), Mosiatlhaga, Pule (Mncwango 46’).
