Aduana Stars coach Yusif Abubakar has called on his team to continue their good form as they head into this weekend’s CAF Confederation Cup playoff, first-leg match against Fosa Juniors.

Stars clicked into top gear this past weekend as they handed Inter Allies a 6-0 thrashing in the Ghana Premier League.

Yahaya Mohammed scored a hat-trick, while Bright Adjei, Nathaniel Asamoah and Emmanuel Akuako also got their names on the score sheet.

“It’s good we scored a lot of goals but I was amazed by the spirited performance the boys displayed,” Abubakar said.

“We had a lot of chances in our previous games but we couldn’t score so we worked more on goal scoring and I hope it will be consistent going forward.

“I told them this match was going to be a character match. They had to show their character and mental toughness.

“I didn’t do a lot of board work for this game and truly they showed the character and won the game. I will make sure they continue with this character.”

Stars will host Madagascar’s Fosa Juniors for the first match of their playoff round tie this Sunday, with the return set for April 18.
