Manchester United are reportedly preparing an opening bid to sign Algerian left-back Faouzi Ghoulam from Napoli in the European summer.
According to RMC Sport, the Red Devils have been keeping tabs on Ghoulam for some time and it is expected that they will put forward an initial £26million offer in the coming weeks.
The Algerian signed a new contract with his Serie A club earlier this year which runs up to 2022, but this has done nothing to quell speculation that he will be leaving at the end of the campaign.
United face competition from the likes of Liverpool and Chelsea, but appear to have the inside line to sign Ghoulam as they have already held talks with his representative Jorge Mendes.
The 26-year-old has been sidelined since November last year with successive knee injuries, but he is expected to make a full recovery and be fit fro preseason training ahead of 2018/19.
