Zambian national team coach Wedson Nyirenda has told the Football Association of Zambia that they can fire him if they want to.
The coach has challenged his employers, FAZ, to take a bold step and fire him, saying he will not appear before the technical committee which was called to review his performance.
According to the Times of Zambia, Nyirenda has asked FAZ to do as they wished and that the technical committee meeting scheduled for this week was unnecessary.
The letter forwarded to all FAZ Executive Committee members and other secretariat staff, stated he was tired of being looked down upon by FAZ and was ready for any action as long as they paid him.
"The past week, I have wanted to meet you (FAZ President Andrew Kamanga) but it has not been possible due to circumstances,” Nyirenda said.
“I want to make it clear that from inception, I was not wanted. It has been so evident in the way my office and person has been disrespected.
"It's like your executive has made up their mind to fire me. The media statements being attributed to the FAZ makes it clear that I am not wanted.
“The best to do is you (FAZ) terminate my contract and settle me so that I find something else to do.”
The former Chipolopolo and Kaizer Chiefs striker added that there was no need for a technical committee meeting to review his position, stating that the executive had already made up its mind.
"I don't think there is need for technical review when you have already judged and made up your minds. You would be doing me a great favour if you terminated my contract,” added the man also known as Wada.
“I have been injured for so long now and I am only human. We cannot go on pretending."
