News reports in Europe suggest that Manchester City are set to renew their interest in Algeria and Leicester City winger Riyad Mahrez.

This comes after the Citizens are reportedly not pursuing Real Madrid midfielder Isco, but the English Premier League leaders will instead make another attempt to sign the Algerian.

Reports in Leicester claim that the Spanish media had suggested Isco was the Blues’ top transfer target ahead of the summer transfer window and City were preparing a £75million bid for the 25-year-old.

However, according to Manchester Evening Post, City bosses have indicated they are not planning a move for the Los Blancos player.

Manager Pep Guardiola is still chasing attacking reinforcements and it is suggested they will look at pushing to lure the Desert Foxes left-footed player.

Leicester turned down Guardiola’s £60million offer as Leicester wanted a fee of £95million for Mahrez in January’s transfer deadline day.

The King Power-based club felt the £60million offer by the Etihad Stadium-based club was lower than their valuation and that forced Mahrez to stay put with the 2016 EPL champions.

With the former player desperate for a move away from Leicester, it is expected he will push to leave the Foxes again when the transfer window re-opens.
