Kampala Capital City Authority coach Mike Mutebi has rued their 1-1 draw against Mbarara City on Wednesday.
The Ugandan Premier League encounter was played at StarTimes Stadium, but Mutebi remained happy with how his players approached the clash.
Muzamiru Mutyaba put the hosts in the lead after just five minutes, but Makweth Owol salvaged a point for the visitors with a goal midway through the second half.
“The result we got isn’t what we expected but my boys played very well,” Mutebi said to KawowoSports.
“That’s the way we play but I think also Mbarara City in the second half asked lots of questions which is good for our young players.
“We are disappointed by the failure to win but happy with the way we played. That’s our way.”
Mutebi shared his thoughts on the current UPL campaign, saying it is tougher than what many think with all sides having a thing or two to fight for.
“We are playing in a league where everyone is jostling for good position. Others are jostling for the championship,” he explained before lauding the Ankole Lions.
“Mbarara City are not a weak team. You could see the players they have. They are very experienced players who have been around for some time.”
