Manchester City are cruising to their English Premier League glory this season as they continue to have a fantastic run.
However, Liverpool are challenging for the UEFA Champions League and have raised their hopes after stunning the Citizens on Wednesday night.
The Reds bagged a convincing 3-0 win over Pep Guardiola’s men at Anfield through goals from Mohamed Salah, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Sadio Mane in the quarter-final first leg clash.
Although the entire Reds team deserves the credit for shutting down the EPL log leaders, a man who has impressed the Reds faithful is none other than the Senegalese international, Mane.
All over the world, the club’s fans took to Twitter to praise the West African attacker for his skilful display especially against Nicholas Otamendi.
Some went on to say Mane must be punished for dribbling past the defender with a dazzling skill on the left flank in the opening half.
After picking up the ball in a dangerous position just inside the box with five minutes remaining in the first-half, Mane found Otamendi standing in his way.
However, the ‘Smiling Assassin’ made light work of his opponent, with Otamendi falling over rather embarrassingly after some nice trickery from the Lions of Teranga international.
Back to the EPL, manager Jurgen Klopp will challenge his men to refocus as they meet Everton on Saturday and Salah remains doubtful after sustaining a injury against City.
