Rayon Sports coach calls for confidence against Costa Do Sol in CAF Confederation Cup

After their CAF Champions League first round loss to Mamelodi Sundowns, Rayon Sports coach Ivan Minnaert has vowed to stun Costa Do Sol.

Rayon dropped to the CAF Confederation Cup after a 2-0 aggregate loss at the hands of the Brazilians last month.

However, they are set to meet Do Sol in the CAF Confederation Cup first round play-off tie on Friday in Rwanda.

Minnaert insisted that confidence will be vital for his side in their clash against the Mozambican side in Kigali.

“Yes we can be satisfied because we were not drawn against big teams like SuperSport (South Africa), Algeria and Moroccan teams which are highly rated. But we need to treat the game like we did against Mamelodi Sundowns,” Minneart said to CAF.

“We have to stop them from scoring and we need to do everything in best way to win. We have to be ready and be at our top ahead of the game. We should be ready from the first minute to the last.

“We have got some information about the game and the preparations have been going well. We have avoided some big teams but we need to approach the game the manner we did against Mamelodi.”

Rayon are hoping to become the first Rwandese club to reach the group stage of a major continental club competition.
