SuperSport United skipper Dean Furman says they still want to do well in the CAF Confederation Cup this year.

The Bafana Bafana midfielder was speaking ahead of their clash against Gor Mahia of Kenya on Sunday in their first leg of the play-off round clash.

Speaking to the Daily Nation of Kenya, he said it still pains him to lose the continental title to TP Mazembe, whom they met in the final last year.

United arrived in Nairobi on Friday afternoon and Furman has referred to the Kenyan trip as a break from the Premier Soccer League.

"This is a very important tournament. We are still disappointed that we didn't win last year despite gracing the finals so our targets are really high,” Furman said to the Daily Nation.

"There is a lot going on at home, we have had challenges with tight schedules and long hours of travelling to get to match venues, so we hope our poor performance won't affect our performance in this match. This is a good break from the league," said the midfielder.

The match will get underway on Sunday at 14:00 (CAT) at Kenyatta Stadium and the return leg will be staged in Pretoria on April 17.
