Bloemfontein Celtic were held to a 1-1 draw by AmaZulu FC in an Absa Premiership match at the Dr Molemela Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

As a result, Siwelele climbed up to ninth place on the league standings, while Usuthu remained 11th place on the table.

Phunya Sele Sele and Usuthu were struggling to keep possession in the final third, and create goal-scoring chances in the opening stages of the game.

As the game progressed, AmaZulu forward Mhlengi Cele and Celtic attacker Kabelo Dlamini both had half chances which they failed to convert.

The score was 0-0 at the interval following a relatively quiet first-half in the City of Roses, Bloemfontein.

A lively second-half followed and it was the hosts, who finally opened the scoring following a good move.

Jacky Motshegwa fired past AmaZulu goalkeeper Siyabonga Mbatha to make it 1-0 to Celtic in the 82nd minute.

However, Cele had other ideas as he scored with four minutes left - beating Celtic keeper Patrick Tignyemb with a low effort.

Ultimately, Celtic and AmaZulu settled for a 1-1 draw on the day.
