Niger Tornadoes midfielder Ibrahim Babawo described their clash with Enugu Rangers as a very difficult game on Sunday.

Babawo scored the only goal of the match as Tornadoes overcame Rangers 1-0 in a Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) match at the Bako Kontagora Stadium.

“It was hard. Very hard for us but I’m happy we got the three points at stake because Rangers are a very tough side to play whether home or away,” he told the official NPFL website.

“I’m happy I scored but much happier we got the three points today (Sunday). I missed the team when I went to Egypt and I’m glad to be back to help the team.

Tornadoes competed in the 2001 CAF Cup Winners’ Cup which is now known as the CAF Confederation Cup.

“We will keep working hard to make sure we do better as the league progresses. Hopefully we shall get a continental ticket at the end of the season,” he concluded.

The win took Tornadoes to fifth place on the league standings with 23 points from 15 matches. They are two points behind second-placed Kano Pillars.

Tornadoes will take on Go Round away in their next league game on Sunday.
